On Exhibition

bienes importados / imported goods
by Anahí González

March 15 to May 11 2024

Artspace is pleased to present the work of Mexican artist, Anahí González. Expressed through photography, installation, sound, and moving images, González’s artistic practice explores migration, Mexican labour, and identity, while critiquing commerce and systems of power.

Please join us for her artist talk on April 6, 2-3pm. Everyone is welcome!

A March Recap

Book+Zine Fest

Our 8th Annual Book & Zine Fest, March 1-2 was a big success!

The book-paper-and-word-arts-loving public had a fabulous time connecting with vendors, and vendors with each other. There were 20 artists including small presses, authors, zine and comic artists, and printmakers. The annual event was accompanied by a bookbinding workshop delivered by Stuart Hill (www.georgehillco.com). Stuart provided instruction on a Basic Cross Cross Structure Binding technique. Additionally, March 1 activities included a pop-up poetry reading in our soon-to-be-formally-launched Annex space (more to come about this).

The Floors

On the heels of B+Z Fest, our gallery floors received a much-needed refresh. A very special thanks goes to Focus Flooring for the partial discount on this expense, making them one of our Seasonal Sponsors!!!

Members' Social

A big, warm thanks goes to all those Artspace members who were able to join us on March 23 for an afternoon of visiting, conversation, sharing food, and even making art together. We got to hear from you about your latest artistic triumphs, current challenges, desires for Artspace, and everything in between. As We head into our next round of Strategic Planning this fall, we'll bring your voices with us. So, thank you!!

And, if you missed the opportunity to participate in-person, please take the opportunity to complete our  MEMBERS SURVEY.

Zwena's Joke of the Month:

I wanted to tell a wood floor joke, but I was afraid you might get too board. Knock knock on wood because we got our floors refinished. The floors got a beautiful facelift, so come and check it out while you're viewing bienes importados/imported goods.
