Nemoralis Book Making Workshop

$0.00

The Nemoralis Book

The Nemoralis is based on a Medieval record book.  The limp binding is based on a 16th century registry of a town’s lumber consumption. The cover is of folded construction made from heavy paper and is held closed with a leather cord.  The sections of the book are sewn directly to the cover with a unique free-form sewing pattern that includes a final gathering.  Originally not created by bookbinders but rather record keepers, the technique is somewhat experimental in nature and historically would have utilized found materials.

Instructed by expert Bookbinder and Instructor Stuart Hill. Stuart is the founder of George Hill & Co., an establishment devoted to the craft of bookbinding.

Date and Time: May 1, 2026, 12:30 - 3:00pm

Cost: $50 (Suggested In-Person Donation)
