Performance/Process closes this month

As we head into our final week of being immersed in Brad Brackenridge's captivating and tactile world, we wish to extend our thanks to the visitors (numbering in the hundreds) who have dropped into Artspace to see the show. Your engagement has been such a joy for staff and volunteers. And, an extra thanks goes to Brad, who has often been on hand to greet visitors, answer questions, and connect with folks.

Please note, the show culminates in an artist talk on Saturday, May 13 at 1pm. This event is free and is followed by refreshments and social time.
All remaining reservations of Brad's special presentation of Vertep are now booked. However, he promises it will be back. If anyone has cancelled their reservation, you'll see the availability HERE.

What a journey it's been!
Join us for our Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Recognition Event on Friday May 26th at 12pm. We'll be joined by our MPP, Dave Smith, OTF representatives, Artspace Staff and Board members, and members of the public, all in celebration of our new Maker Space!
Since opening the Maker Space in March 2023, we have received a swell of positive feedback from the community! Our membership has expanded, and we've fostered new connections with artists, community members, and local organizations.
Thanks to a Resilient Communities Grant from OTF, we've been able to conduct research and outreach activities, purchase new equipment, develop more accessible arts programming, host workshops, grow our fundraising capacity, and so much more. Looking back over the past 10 months, we simply could not be more grateful.
Come on out on May 26th to explore the space, enjoy some light refreshments, and chat with us about what this space means to you!
In other news...
The final workshop in our OTF-funded 2023 Maker Space Workshop Series is coming up on May 21st!
Exploring Mixed Media with local artist Casandra Lee!
This workshop is free to attend, and registration is now open on our website!
Check out our website to learn more about the workshop and how to register.

Celebrating Lindsay Hill
If you happen to drop in to the Maker Space on a Friday, there's a very good chance you'll bump into Lindsay Hill. In addition to being an Artspace volunteer, Lindsay is a graphic designer and children’s book illustrator specializing in digital media. Her past clients include OWLKids, Pinnguaq, and Our Stories in STEM. When she’s not drawing or designing, she can be found baking, reading a mystery novel, or building miniatures.

"As a children's book illustrator, my aim is to create joyful and engaging visuals that not only bring happiness to myself, but also to anyone who lays eyes on my work. I accomplish this through my vibrant digital illustrations, which incorporate playful Easter eggs and friendly characters." To view samples of her illustrations, check out her website imhillustrations.com !
As part of her volunteer contribution to Artspace, she's helping us out with our social media comms. Click HERE to view her latest video for Artspace!
Thank you Lindsay for helping make Artspace a welcoming and fun place to be!
