Departure of Director of Operations and Development
Dylan Dammermann
A message from Dylan:

In the last year I have had the honour of representing and managing Artspace as the Director of Operations and Development. As of the end of this month the time has come for me to move onto my next adventure.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the dedicated arts community in Peterborough for making my time at Artspace so memorable, and in my opinion successful! I truly have enjoyed my time as co-director of Artspace and am so excited to see how the organization and community continues to grow and change.

A special thank you to the Board of Directors, their dedicated leader Eryn Lidster, and my fantastic volunteer crew!

Manar Moursi's : The Loudspeaker and The Tower !

Take in the immersive show and pick up a free publication
Friday July 29th from 3 - 6:30pm or Saturday July 30th from 12 - 4pm.

Show description:

Using the mosque as its starting point, The Loudspeaker and the Tower examines the apparatus of the minaret as a vertical symbol of power and as a horizontal multiplier of official and unsanctioned narratives. Moursi’s installation revolves around a set of associated characters — residents of once agricultural lands, mosque custodians, imams, architects, artists, and a parrot — to further understand the radical complexities of these structures.

The exhibit is organized and circulated by Trinity Square Video and SAVAC with support from Ontario Arts Council.

Mikiki

Port Monteau is a series of new video and sculpture works by Toronto based artist Mikiki. Works were produced following a self-lead research trip taken to their home territory on the east coast, where they connected with land and family. The show explores themes of intersectionality, queerness, nourishment, and community through the lens of Mikiki’s mixed settler and Mi'kmaq ancestry, queer identity, and HIV status.
