The Maker Space

Since 2014, Artspace has offered it’s members free access to our “Media Lab”.

So what is the Maker Space?

Maker Space is a welcoming and comfortable place where community members can access a broad range of equipment, tools, and materials for art making and creative exploration!

Since 2014, Artspace has offered its members free access to our “Media Lab”. Well utilized by the community, the Media Lab was equipped with a wide array of film, photography, and digitization equipment, along with tools for zine and paper craft. In 2022, Artspace received a Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to expand our Media Lab into a larger and more accessible Maker Space!

After months of engaging with community, connecting with artists, building furniture, and acquiring equipment, our Maker Space is now open to the public! In addition to offering community members access to a collection of tools, materials, and technologies for art-making and documentation, we offer a combination of low-barrier arts programming and artistic development opportunities for artists and art-makers in this community.
