Workshop- Resonant Harmony and Cardboard Construction

Join Vanessa Dion Fletcher and Matt Walker as they share about the process of making Resonant Harmony, a new public art work in Peterborough’s new Miskin Community Complex.

This workshop will take place in two parts:

Part 1: The Artists will walk you through their process, giving participants the opportunity to learn about their work from proposal, to design, fabrication and installation.

Part 2: Participants will get the opportunity to make their own cardboard sculpture, by learning and practicing various cardboard joining techniques.

All ages are welcome, however all children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

About the Artist

Vanessa Dion Fletcher is a Lenape and Potawatomi neurodiverse artist; her family is from Eelūnaapèewii Lahkèewiitt (displaced from Lenapawking) and European settlers. Reflecting on an Indigenous and gendered body with a neurodiverse mind, Dion Fletcher looks for knowledge in materials and techniques.

Since 2017, Dion Fletcher has been using porcupine quills as a primary medium, creating two-dimensional quillwork pieces and expanding the medium through photography, sculpture and performance.
