Join us on June 30th for a scoop of ice cream....and the latest scoop on the last year at Artspace

We're so excited to see all your beautiful faces, eating ice cream chatting about what 2021 looked like for Artspace and what the rest of 2022 has in store!

This year we will be meeting in person at the Peterborough Public Library BUT members will also have the option to attend virtually (members will receive and email with the zoom link the day of the AGM).

5050
Show and Auction!

5050 is back!!!

This year 27 Artspace members submitted 40 works for display as part of 5050.

This eclectic collection of works showcases a slice of the talent Peterborough has to offer. From poetry to landscapes, metalwork to highly technical prints, 50-50 represents the breadth of creativity in Peterborough’s art community.

Show - ON NOW through July 8th

Check out the show on the Lower level of the Peterborough Public Library during their public hours from now through July 8th.

Auction - July 4 -8

The auction preview is now LIVE!! You can view available works here

The auction will open the morning of July 4th and bids can be placed at any time until the auction starts closing at 8pm on the 8th. It takes about 10 minutes for the auction to close.

Starting with Lot 1 there is a 2 minute countdown and bidding at the last second extends the lot (just like a live auction!).

Wrap-Party - July 9th

We will be hosting a drop in event in the Friends Of the Library room (the large community room beside the show!) from 11am - 3pm on July 9th

There will be snacks (I heard a rumour about Sam's Sandwiches), a packing station for those who purchased works or Artists who want to pack up their works before bringing them home, and generally just a chance to hang out and be in community again for a few hours.

Manar Moursi:

The Loudspeaker and the Tower

On Now through July 30th

Through an immersive environment constructed of coloured lights, megaphones, masks, videos and sculptures, Toronto-and Boston-based artist, designer, and architect Manar Moursi presents a multitude of considerations to the viewer: What if singular patriarchal voices of religious sermons were interpreted through mime and dance? How would neon lights adorning mosque minarets look as sculptural objects? How do residents of Cairo challenge authoritative architectures and urban master plans, whilst creating new meanings for public space and land use? By that token, what shapes can we abstract from these biographical networks of the megalopolis?
