Artspace is excited to announce one of our Book + Zine affiliated events: Bookbinding with Stuart Hill!
Expert Bookbinder and Instructor Stuart Hill is back again this year! Register for this event and learn how to make your own book using Tesuyoso - a sewn multi-section Japanese book structure.
Tesuyoso Book Binding:
Tesuyoso is an alternative Japanese multi-section book structure that is sewn in a technique that has aspects of modern book sewing. The flexible covers are constructed in a manner that is used in most other Japanese book structures, including the well known stab binding. The session will include a show-and-tell of all the other Japanese bookbinding methods and a little bit of history of the book in Japan.
Event Details:
The workshop will take place at Artspace on Friday March 7th, from 12-3pm. All are welcome to attend, with no bookbinding experience necessary!
Registration is by donation.
