Off to a great start!
We first wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone who responded to our call for community feedback around the new Maker Space!!
Since starting in July, Jillian has spent her time consulting with community members to learn about what folks want and need in a new Maker Space. Art supplies, workshops, a zine library, and accessible lighting options, are just a few examples of what community members have said are important to them!
We have been met with an incredible amount of community support for this project, with so many folks offering their time, ideas, and expertise! Thanks also to the folks who came out to our First Friday Art Crawl event and made it such a wonderful success. We promise there will be more to come!
So what’s next?
On to the next phase of this exciting project! Over the next couple of months, Jillian and Leslie will be hard at work building furniture, painting walls, installing equipment, and planning our 2023 Maker Space workshop series. In short, putting all of your ideas into action!
Still have ideas to share? Don’t worry! Opportunities for engagement won’t end here. Our survey will remain open for the foreseeable future (as will Jillian’s inbox!) for anyone who wants to connect over the course of this project. See previous post for the link!
